Lockable Lids and Bulk Container Dollies
RPP Containers prides itself on its

While some customers and applications require a completely custom container to be designed and built from scratch, many times, doing simple customizations to a standard container or slight modifications to a standard design can get the job done. Going with one of these smaller, more common customizations can be a much faster and cost-effective way to get the container you need.
Lockable or Tamper Evident Lids
One of our most common requests is for a way to be able to lock or secure a lid to a container so customers can be sure that nothing inside has been removed or tampered with during shipment. A standard collapsible bulk container lid simply sits on top of the container, similar to how a shoebox lid sits on a shoebox. While this is great for keeping the contents inside clean, it doesn’t add much in the way of security.
If you simply would like to know if contents have been tampered with, the simplest option that works for most customers is to install corresponding thru-holes on the lids and containers. This can be done in as many or as few locations as requested and allow the customer to use zip ties, cable ties, or tamper-evident ties to secure the lid to the container. These ties resist breakage in shipment so that if all are intact upon delivery, you can be sure that your product was not tampered with in transit or during cross-docking.
If you need a more secure solution, we can modify our standard lids to be lockable onto the bin. For these applications, we usually use a hasp assembly or locking latch assembly on all four sides of the bin. Many different sizes of this hardware are available that can accommodate anything from a padlock to a combo lock or cable lock.
Custom dollies and casters when forklifts and pallet jacks are not an option
Most of the bins we sell go into warehouse operations and are moved around via forklift or pallet jack. We have, however, serviced many office locations, mailrooms, and banking institutions where using a pallet jack is either very inconvenient or, in some cases, not even possible. In these applications, we can use 3rd party casters and wheels to make our bulk containers rollable.
In some cases, casters can be bolted directly to the bottom of the pallet base of our bulk containers. This is a permanent modification to the bin but can create problems for stacking and make shipping the bins via truck more difficult. The way to get around these issues is to use our bulk container dollies. The casters are bolted onto a powder-coated steel frame that the bin is then sat on. This means the bins can be easily rolled from one place to another, but when collapsed for storage or shipped via truck, the bins are simply removed from the dolly and shipped flat on the ground. We have all sorts of options when it comes to wheel diameter, material, and lockability to make sure you have no problems moving the bins around, regardless of the floor surface.
