Custom Side Discharge Container Options

What is a custom side discharge?

Custom Side Discharge Container Options

Many are familiar with bottom discharge containers, but there isn’t always an easy way to elevate the container to empty the contents. This is a problem that some of our customers will have, and over the past few years there has been an increasing need for a side discharge container option.  At one point, a side discharge option was more prevalent in the industry, but that option has since faded.

There are some things to consider when deciding if a standard bottom discharge container is best for you or if a custom side discharge option might better fit your needs.  Do you have the common issue where you do not have an easy way to raise the container up for discharge? Is the chute opening size too small or too large?  Do you need a different chute angle?  Do the standard hopper bottom container dimensions not fit your exact needs? If you are running into one of these issues, a custom side discharge option might work best for you!

Custom Side Discharge Container Options

Many customers will lift their containers with forklifts to empty the container while elevated on a forklift.  Other customers will make custom stands for their bottom discharge containers which is a popular option if the containers will be used in one location and not moved around often. RPP Containers understands that these options aren’t always ideal for everyone.  If you need to move your container around your facility, or to multiple locations, a side discharge option could certainly benefit you.

The measurement of the chute opening is also a cause for concern for some customers. The chute opening on our 45” L x 48” W x 50” H hopper bottom container  is 11” L x 6.25” W. On the 57” L x 45” W CenterFlow Hopper Bottom containers the chute opening is 10.7” x 8.1”. If either of these chute openings are too large or too small for your contents, we can customize a side discharge chute opening to fit your specific needs. We can also provide you with the exact chute angle needed so that your contents flow out the container at the rate that is just right for you.

Do you need different container dimensions than what we currently offer in our stock sizes? In the 45” L x 48” W footprint, we have a 50”H hopper bottom  available. In the 57” L x 45” W footprint we have a few heights available: 32”H, 41”H, 65”H, & 74” H.  Some customers will need an entirely different footprint, and this is where we would be able to create a custom size, created just for your use.  Maybe you need a taller or shorter height in the 45” L x 48” W footprint. A recent project that RPP Containers completed was a 45” L x 48” W x 54” H side discharge container. If the dimensions need adjusting for your contents, we can work with you to find a custom side discharge size perfect for your needs.
